MSc in Data Science for Sustainability

The world is currently facing significant sustainability challenges, including climate change, biodiversity loss, water scarcity, pollution.  Data science, by uncovering valuable insights from complex economic, environment and social systems, has become a crucial player in supporting the efforts to address the issues.  The MSc programme in Data Science for Sustainability is a collaboration between the Department of Statistics and Data Science and the Centre for Nature-based Climate Solutions, in partnership with Department of Biological Science. The programme is to train data scientists who can integrate their knowledge and skills with an understanding of sustainability issues.

The demand for professionals with skills in the field of both robust data science and sustainability is increasing rapidly.  The growing demand opens exciting and diverse career opportunities.  Our programme is designed to equip graduates with the necessary technical and analytical abilities to effectively meet the demand.
